As part of my freelance practice, I’ve been working with soon-to-be brides on creating wedding websites for their big day. The websites I create reflect the colours, expression and energy of the wedding. For the client included in this case study, they wanted a simple functional website which was very compatible for mobile.
The hompage inteded to be a simple link page where guests can navigate where they’d like to go. The homepage uses the location of the wedding as a backdrop, tinted with the light green/pistachio colours the couple wanted.
The couple wanted the page with all relevant wedding information to be together. This information is mostly for pre-planning, which is why it is separate from the wedding schedule. I wrote custom JavaScript buttons so that guests can click on the category they intend to learn about and skip down to the relevant section.
The schedule of events is a simple CSS/HTML code function which adapts well to mobile. The schedule will be viewed by guests during the wedding which means that it’s important to be compatible for both.
The couple have an external registry they wanted to link, however, they wanted to encourage guests to upload images of them as a more important request.
